About Me
Jonathan Gallegos is an educator, musician, and artistic collaborator who is currently an Assistant Professor of Voice at The Berklee College of Music, a Lecturer of Musical Theatre Performance at Boston University, and a Teaching Fellow of Voice and Speech at Harvard University. Outside of academia, he maintains a private studio in Boston, MA.
Mr.Gallegos studied at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, graduating with his Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Musical Theatre Vocal Pedagogy (inaugural class). He received his Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Vocal Performance from New Mexico State University.
Over the past 20 years, he taught voice and string bass through his private studio. His previous teaching experience includes Musical Direction and Instructor of Technical Skills with the Albuquerque Little Theatre, Boston Conservatory of Music at Berklee, New Mexico Enchantment Awards, and the University of New Mexico.
Jonathan also has an extensive performance portfolio that includes roles at the American Repertory Theater, North Stage Toronto, Speakeasy Stages, Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Musical Theatre Southwest, Moonbox Productions, Mother Road Theatre Company, Landmark Musicals, and the Albuquerque Little Theatre. Musically, he has served as a member of the Las Cruces Symphony Orchestra, El Paso Symphony Orchestra, and Doña Ana Lyric Opera. He is a proud member of VASTA, PAVA, and AEA.
Jonathan’s teaching philosophy aims to foster an enthusiasm for the vocal arts while maintaining an environment that favors acceptance, diversity, and inclusion. He advocates helping his students achieve their dreams and succeed through authentic experiences and expressions of art.
